Yves initially began his martial arts journey through as a Judo practitioner, seeing one of his training partners wearing a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu shirt. After watching the likes of Royce Gracie compete in the early Ultimate Fighting Championship days, Yves was convinced he needed to master this particular martial art.
Yves sees himself as a long-term Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructed dedicated to teaching the kid's classes; some of his fondest achievements are meeting great people and keeping in shape through the academy.
Yves strongly believes that training in BJJ is a great confidence booster -
“I think BJJ is the best martial art for women and youth (as it) teaches you to control a much heavier opponent even from your back. That is why both of my girls are training in BJJ”.
